A tribute pet to the ship Rocinante from The Expanse book/tv series. I absolutely adore this incredibly well-written sci-fi series and I wanted to challenge myself with this pet - to do an “inanimate object”. As the Roci is the ship itself, I originally had it set as “genderless”. I didn’t know that Subeta also had a gender glitch which occurred sometimes from adopting Zentus at their source, so when a friend was offering up one for adoption which had no gender marker whatsoever I thought it was perfect for the Roci! I hope those familiar with the series can appreciate the TC and it’s allusions to the protomolecule.
A short, moody game meant as a love letter to my Midwestern growing up. If you like the profile, I also made a standalone, extended version! That can be found over here: https://routethirteen.itch.io/r13
A kelpie inhabiting a pond in France. She’s a shape-shifting water spirit, a black horse-like creature who can take a human form, though she can’t stray far from the pond… Daphne’s story really opens up intrigue into the history of other characters and acts as a gateway into my story ‘Saturn Peaches’. It’s all in the early stages of development but through Daphne and the other pets/characters, I’ve been able to embrace writing and break out of a painfully long creative block! Inspired by summers in the South of France and down-the-rabbit-hole stories like Spirited Away and Alice in Wonderland, this story is an ode to my childhood and a love of children’s fantasy stories.
the story of the demon that reveals peoples darkest desires to themselves and helps them act on them “My day usually starts when I find that special someone, there always quite easy to spot and find. Its extra fun today though! I connect with a human that’s almost choking on their vile hate, oh it makes me dizzy with delight!”
Amiss is a page that is symbolic of being sick. The narrative of Amiss is a surreal story of getting lost in Subeta, getting into trouble, and getting sick because of it. This is a symbol of, at least for me, going into the world with a mental illness and being “treated” for it by different people.
The weapon crafting enterprise headed by Ha’danas Rosestrider was known throughout Silvermoon; the Rosestrider name having become synonymous with quality arms of all shapes and types. Having inherited a small gun shop from his own father, the arms dealer grew his empire from there. Over the years, Ha’danas invented hundreds of deadly weapons, each one surpassing the last in durability and lethality. This earned him both the respect of civilian and soldier alike, and the recognition of larger governments. While his fortune was massive, he knew he could not control the business forever. He needed an heir. — Heanor Rosestrider was brought up under the tutorage of his father as the future heir of the business. Watching his father work made him sure that’s not what he wanted for his future.
Jamie is a young man stranded on a strange island together with a small group of people who seem to be of same age. The group is stranded on their own with only two backpacks containing a few rations, a pair of combat knives, blankets, flint and tinder. Nobody remembers how they landed on the island. They seem to know each other, despite the fact that most of their memories were purged. Jamie quickly realizes that the others do not really like him and want to be rid of him, so he keeps his distance while also depending on them for survival. He keeps quiet about the strange tattoos suddenly appearing on his right arm and back, something he’s sure he did not have before, so as not to alert the group. In contrast to the others, Jamie is not very sporty and a bit chubby. He is a nuisance to the rest of the group, who are all athletic, and in Jamie’s eyes, beautiful. Kira is the only one who takes pity on him and decides to leave him a knife when the rest of the group decides to sneak away. Jamie has to learn to survive on his own, in an unfamiliar environment, populated by creatures that have long been extinct. He has no choice but to fight for his survival. The chubby young man becomes, through illness and lack of food, a thin, sinewy fighter who learns to withstand the hostile environment. This comes to a surprise to the group, who had believed that he died when they abandoned him. Although the young man had most of his memory erased, he still remembers that he was not raised by his birth parents. Unfortunately, he no longer remembers from whom. He also remembers that his mother is dead and that his father still lives although he never has met him. But this, his name and the feeling of always being an outsider is all he can remember in the beginning. Any other information is like a black hole that has been torn into his memories. In his dreams he sometimes has flashbacks of his past. Jamie is a very empathic person and has always had a good relationship with animals. Over time he gains the trust of a black Utha Raptor and befriends her. He names her Willow.
This pet comes from a fascination with pyrotechnics and all things fireworks. Started the TC prior to an extended hiatus from Subeta, Trin now fits with my Shop Owner pet series. I always had this idea he was a charming, haphazard type of person; something that fits the chaotic nature of fireworks.
Sometimes there are papers nailed into the trunks in the forest. We don’t know who put them there. Sometimes they’re warnings. Sometimes they’re completely blank. Sometimes the mud turns red. Sometimes people decide to go into the forest anyway. Sometimes they don’t come back.
“Go.”, you think to yourself as you make your way through this dark thicket. Your feet hurt, pebbles made their way into your shoes. It’s not far, you keep mumbling. The camp is near and you will rest eventually. There is barely a cloud in the sky to cover the bright light of the moon. The path unfolds by itself - you are feeling full of energy. It has been days, weeks or months since you have entered the Sommervald out of pure curiosity, yet here you are, eagerly wandering around aimlessly.
